Wine for a New Age

The most amazing and misunderstood thing about our wine industry is that 70% of the total available market are those interested in wine who do not buy and don’t know how to even start. Those of us in the industry seem to strive for the perfect wine in relation to the existing wine profiles established by long standing convention or the wine critics. In fact a closer look will show most non wine drinkers were brought up drinking sweet things like sodas or juice. So it would seem reasonable that if we looked closely at the largest part of the market we should lean toward making wines that are a bit more user friendly to the uninitiated. That would be sweeter or fruitier wines.
These wines are the ones we got into trouble with when we were younger like berry or fruit wine, but since we have become much more sophisticated (tongue firmly planted in cheek) we look down on them. They are however much more fun than the wines that need to have food consumed with their use. The big dry wines are great in their place, but not attractive to the new pallet.

We at HV Cellars understand this need and have looked to make our wines attractive to the new wine pallet. Visit a small restaurant in a remote area of Tuscany and the proprietor will bring out a large bottle of red wine. Very drinkable, it is light and fruity and easily downed before any food arrives. That is the essence of what we offer. Our table wines are fruit forward and nice without food or great with a good pasta or meat dish.

Taken a step farther, our fine fruit wines are 100% fermented fruit with the sweetness of ripe fruit without loosing that hint of tartness.  We will never start with chardonnay and add fruit flavor. Because they are so different we can claim 100% satisfaction or just return the remaining wine and we’ll refund or credit the purchase price.

These qualities assure the new wine drinker that what they choose will be fun for them and their friends. Further, our fruit wines are strong enough to stand up to mixing. Add some spritzer and ice to our Blackberry for some summer fun, or add a little orange juice for a wonderful sangria. Our Cranberry makes a perfect Cosmo or martini and the Pomegranate and tequila, well let’s just say PARTY!!!!!

For the serious minded wine lover our varietals especially the Pinot Noir, Baco Noir and Pinot Gris are very well received and award winning.

So take a chance with HV Cellars and no matter what your experience level we will have a wine that will enhance any social, romantic or quiet time not to mention a truly good meal.
